Bubblecake is a talented team of bakers, pastry chefs and sales pros, all trained extensively in the art of creating, merchandizing, packing up and delivering your favorite sweet stuff.
ABOUT US
Proprietors Lisa and Rob Lusk have combined over 40 years in luxury hospitality operations, sales, marketing and pastry. Bubblecake is the culmination of all those years experience in some of the country's most competitive culinary environments and establishments.
A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America's Pastry and Baking Program, Lisa is the creative one. You'll often find her consulting on a wedding, working on marketing campaigns, redesigning the menu and retail displays or working with the finishers. She's held top positions as a pastry chef under some of the country's most esteemed chefs in Miami, New York, Los Angeles and Washington DC. She managed top-rated restaurants for 6 years, free-lanced as a food writer/editor, and worked extensively in food media and marketing.
Rob's the people person. He's worked under countless renowned chefs and operators, from New Orleans and Chicago to Washington DC. He focused entirely on the mastery of luxury hospitality service and marketing, and became a highly skilled front-of-the house operator and salesperson. He holds a degree in Culinary Arts and Management. You'll find him mostly behind the scenes nowadays, spearheading production and day to day operations, spearheading new stores, keeping the staff in check and the kitchens the well-oiled-machines that they are.
Today, the couple leads their cherry-picked staff of 10, while constantly looking for ways to expand and improve every aspect of the growing bubblecake empire. They have two kids, Remy (9) and Miles (6), who have the charmed luck of growing up in a cupcake shop.

Our pastry chefs and bakers are serious cupcake ninjas. Some are self-taught, others have culinary degrees. Still some have learned much of what they know about the industry exclusively from us. All are passionate, top-notch achievers with a commitment to excellence in their craft.
We've heard that we're a tough place to work. It's true that for every 2 people we train, only one sticks--the cream rises to the top. We are unwavering in our commitment to bring our customers perfection each and every day. If a prospective employee doesn't fully commit, neither do we. We're that obsessed (and so are our chefs).
We've done thousands of weddings, corporate events, showers, birthdays and custom orders. We've sold hundreds of thousands of our confections since opening our doors in 2009.
